A few months ago we were lucky enough to be invited to look at a new project for a new client - Leeds Castle Foundation http://www.leeds-castle.com The Leeds Castle Christmas Past event is our second project at this amazing venue in the heart of Kent, our first being a small lighting and effects job for halloween. The brief was to come up with a concept to light a 1000 meter stretch of woodland, along which visitors would walk from the main car park to meet a land train which then transports them to the main Christmas Past event with it's Christmas attractions and stalls. After several site visits and meetings, we presented a zoned walk-though experience which included creating a breathing tree (an already impressive MASSIVE Cedar of Lebanon) along with 4 other themed areas. Using lighting and effects by amongst others,  Vari-Lite, Robe, Martin/ Mac, James Thomas Engineering, Chroma Q & Studio Due, we created an LED "tunnel of trees", a colour changing waterfall, the narnia-esque enchanted woodland walk and a "finale" area which included DMX controlled colour changing LED alongside big effects using Space Flowers and City Colours. Thanks to Leeds Castle Foundation and photographer Richard Gooding, we now have some fantastic new images in our festive lighting gallery http://www.dplx.co.uk/festive-lighting/
